On Saturday, April 28th, Partners of E.C. Barton & Company laced up their tennis shoes and took to the pavement in support of North East Arkansas’ second annual Race for the Cure. For the second year in a row, Barton’s and Surplus Warehouse were the Presenting Sponsors for this exciting event.
There were many activities leading up to race day that the company participated in. Earlier in April, our very own Jeff Chastain spoke on behalf of the company at a press conference where over $1 million in grants were presented to healthcare organizations all over the state of Arkansas.
On April 27th, otherwise known as Race Day Eve, partners from the company participated in a fundraiser deemed The Pink Pasta Party hosted at St. Bernards Auditorium. Kevin Pierce, VP of Operations for Surplus Warehouse and Barton’s spoke at the event on our behalf. E.C. Barton & Company was also recognized that evening as the largest team in the large business category being just shy of a 50 person team. Pink Prowl and the Men’s Walk a Mile in her shoes one mile relay was also held this day.
E.C. Barton & Company made their presence known at the race on Saturday morning. Several members of our leadership team started off early that morning at 6 a.m. as gate greeters to the event followed by our President and CEO Steve Brimner addressing the crowd. E.C. Barton & Company finds value in being Presenting Sponsors of Northeast Arkansas’s Race for the Cure, as Steve said in his speech. The Northeast Arkansas community has been supporting our business since 1885, and sponsoring Race for the Cure is just a small way for us to give back to the community as well as the great state of Arkansas.
